Grants

About Our Grants

The Farallon Islands Foundation provides grant funding for projects related to island and ocean conservation. We seek projects related to research, maintenance, restoration, public education, island acquisition, and more. Most FIF grants are in the amount of $5,000-$10,000. For examples of projects that we have funded in the past, please review our list of completed projects.

Eligibility

To be eligible for funding from FIF, the grantee must be registered as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in the United States. However, organizations or individuals that do not meet this criteria can consider partnering with a U.S.-based non-profit to successfully fund their project.

Applying for funding

1. Submit an idea

To apply for funding for a project, please submit a brief letter of inquiry via the form on our contact page.

2. Submit A FULL PROPOSAL

If we are interested in a full proposal, we will contact you to request additional details about your project.

3. PROPOSAL REVIEW AND FUNDING DETERMINATION

All proposals will be reviewed by the FIF Board of Directors, which meets twice per year to review funding applications and determine which projects will receive funding. Our Board will contact with you during this process and will notify you of the final decision.

Application Deadlines

FIF accepts applications for grants at any time of year. There are no formal application deadlines.
