In October 2021, a grant from the Farallon Islands Foundation to Point Blue provided support for an educational video on the benefits of eradicating the invasive house mouse from the South Farallon Islands.
The video supports the efforts of 17 years of study and planning by the US Fish and Wildlife Service and Point Blue as their proposed project to eradicate the non-native house mouse from the islands approaches a major milestone: a hearing by the California Coastal Commission to determine whether the project is consistent with the California Coastal Act.
A $7,500 grant from FIF supported Point Blue staff time and vendor costs associated with video production for an educational video explaining the need for eradication of the house mouse from the sensitive ecosystem of the Farallon Islands. A video link is posted below.
